Brad Pitt Back on the Big Screen in Moneyball!
Brad Pitt has been laying low for awhile it seems. Now he has come back with his new movie Moneyball. It’s not a traditional Brad Pitt movie. It’s unique not something you would expect. Brad Pitt plays Billy Beane the general manager of a baseball team the Oakland A’s. A team that was scraping the bottom of the barrel. Beane’s job is on the line if he cannot come up with a top team to try to get to the World Series.
Pitt’s character Beane was left to think out side the box when scouting new teammates. He had to come up with a team quick and efficiently. Money was tight. He crosses paths with Peter Brand played by upcoming star Jonah Hill. Brand is Yale economics graduate. The two come together and put together a computer generated analysis in order to recruit new teammates. It was a new way to approach scouting. This new tactic caused a huge uproar within the baseball league.
It also include such power house performers as Robin Wright and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. The movie is based on a book written by Michael Lewis in 2003. It is a real look at a team in crisis and someone willing to risk everything to make it to the top. Beane took an unusual route but he made his team a hit.
Moneyball hit theaters September 23rd, 2011. It took the number one slot at the box office even beating out the Lion King 3D. It looks like Brad is back!
