Press Launch • Sweet Lunch Highlights from this year’s programme include: the controversial new play Nymphs and Shepherds, a disturbing portrayal of the life and mind of a paedophile, Clak! a fast-paced mime comedy show from Spain themed around the movies, Judy and Me, an endearing Franco-Dutch Judy Garland tribute transferring from Paris with rave reviews, AmerWrecka, premiere of the war on terror critique from LA, billed as “a cross between Fahrenheit 9/11 and Moulin Rouge”, Klown Kampf, a new-age clowning spectacular featuring Hip Hop and break dance, SideShowSociety’s Hand Relief, anarchic sketch comedy from the Midlands, The Surbiton Washerama and Other Stories & The Happy Prince by LBC London’s singing reporter and former Womble Daniel Cainer and Fat, Bald & Loud, fresh from his role on ER, fat bald loud American Craig Shaynak brings us his miraculous “Giant Wheel of Accents”. This year Sweet is also opening a brand new venue out of Club Ego on Picardy Place, over the road from the Edinburgh Playhouse.
