Well, well, well, there we are.

1 Fringe: 26 performances of Judy and Me,
15.000 flyers, 250 posters and about 1.800 other shows.

We're bringing home a total of 18 stars.
Honoured by this success, Christmas can't start early enough this year.

We've enjoyed every day of the festival,
and would start all over again tomorrow if only we could.
But the laundry back in Paris needs to be done too.

It has been surprising to hear and read the reactions
of what people think, feel and experience watching the show.

After the last show we had a sublime dinner in The Witchery with Sue.
We certainly would like to bring her home too.
Sue, just two words: Thank you.

At end of the evening we laughed until we cried.
It was a private joke, but we'll share it anyway.
Some lines from the show, slightly modified:
Are you going to divorce? Will you continue working together?
Will you have custody of Michael?

Then there was Paul Froy, our operator and so much more.
Paul, thank you for your devotion and professionalism.

Many thanks also to all the people at Sweet:
Julian, Tom, Sylke, Johanna, Louis, Steve, James, Zachary, ... ... ...

We had some difficulties joining the final party though;
it was organised in two different places at the same time.

But we had a last beer at Ego on Picardy Place.
This strange venue was now turned back into a nightclub,
and we all went home fullfilled, happy and exhausted.

We took 24 hours to visit the Highlands and sent out some postcards.
Loch Lomond, The Inveraray Castle, Loch Fyne, The George Hotel,
the Argyll Forest, The Dochart Falls were all stunning. What a landscape.

Now Judy and Me is off to see its next destination,
which might be in North Yorkshire. We'll keep you informed.

But first the ferry from Rosyth to Zeebrugge back to Paris.

PS: More Fringe stories and photos will be updated shortly.

Isabelle at Loch Lomond, enjoying every second.
Argyll Forest, what a landscape.

Yesterday evening at 6pm we did our 23rd performance in a row.
Just close your eyes for a second and try to imagine.

Like to share these lines I read in The List today:
The Edinburgh Fringe is where superstars of tomorrow cut their teeth
and veterans rediscover their passion.

We'll get an appointment with our dentists as soon as we're back in Paris.

One of the great joys that make an experience so enriching
is the opportunity of meeting people.

There was a group from Spain who performed in the same venue as ours.
Their show was called Clak, a film parody with two twin brothers onstage.

It was great meeting them.

Yesterday we went to see Hedwig and the Angry Inch
The room was filled with hysterical teenagers
and the volume sure wasn't running short on decibels.
I understand why their grandparents prefer Judy and Me.
But the Hedwig band was rock solid and
we really enjoyed these graduates from Cambridge.
We'll keep an eye on the very talented bass player, James,
wondering what he's going to do with his talent: music or physics?

The audience. That's what we keep playing for.
Sometimes we struggle hard, with lighting and sound.
Sometimes we get a feeling the stage is falling apart.
But when the curtain goes down, and the house is cheering,
we know it was worth fighting for.

This Fringe Public Show Review is a sweet icing on the cake:

Highly Entertaining

Reviewer: Graeme Carter, Dundee

I totally agree with the other guy.
This is a great show and has been overlooked by the Scotsman, etc (because it's not on at the Assembly Rooms, no doubt)
and I have to say it's entertainment of a higher level
than a lot of tired old has-beens who keep wheeling out mediocre shows because they maybe did a good one 10 years ago!
This one is highly recommended.

When I was 8, my grandfather often took me to the circus.
I have loved it ever since, especially contemporary circus.
Tonight we saw the most beautiful show:
ImMortal2 from the Nofit State Circus.
I have no words to describe what we experienced.
It was breathtaking, thrilling, exciting, moving...
We were all just awestruck.
I'm sure my grandfather would have loved it too.

Tonight, we met an amazing 81-year-old lady,
the same age Judy Garland would be if she were still alive. (1922)
As a matter of fact, this lady came to see our show because
she saw Judy on stage in 1952 here in Edinburgh
and had always been a great admirer of hers.
What a coincidence.

Well, well, well.
What else is there to say.

After a day like this, a total black out, a cheering audience,
a perfomers breakfast where even Frédéric Chopin came up,
a BFM, irrronnning and a wonderful night at the Spiegeltent,
I'll just let you enjoy the following weblogs.

Best,

Frédérik.

What a day! Isabelle gave the rundown,
and I must say we are all exhausted after such a full and memorable day.
As she sings in the show: …but it's all in the game,
and the way you play it, and you gotta play the game you know...

Cheers,

Michael.

Today was what you call a busy Fringe day.
From 9 to 11, we went to the promoters' breakfast…
New York, New Zealand, Australia could be the next
destinations for Judy and Me around the world.
At noon, the 3 of us did our traditional BFM,
followed by a bit of flyering.
At 6, we started our 18th performance.
In front of a good and numerous audience.
The show was great fun until right in the middle of Over The Rainbow
where the light and sound went out.
In almost complete darkness, not amplified at all,
I kept on singing in front of a knocked out audience.
Well guess what, they loved it. As Frédérik told them,
this was a perfect example of The Show Must Go On.
To end this full day of a performer at the Fringe,
we went to see Camille, at the Spiegeltent.
A wonderful experience, an amazing performer.
Thank you Frédérik for this beautiful idea.
It is also part of the Fringe to be in the spotlights
at one point of the day
and among the spectators at another.

While updating our site we checked the Fringe Public Show Reviews.
We were happy to read the following:

I think I fell in love.
18 Aug 2005.
Reviewer: Pete Howe, UK.

Can't believe no one's left a review for this yet.
The most watchable woman I've seen for a long time.
Not an impression of Judy Garland, more an homage.
Yet, I defy anyone not to fall in love with this actress
(I utterly apologise as her name escapes me)
as she sings through the story.
Fantastic afternoons theatre.

Well Pete, her name is Isabelle Georges.

Last week we've been performing in a show called:
Best Of The Festival Musicals.

Don't know if we really are the Best Of but it has been great fun.
We'd like to thank Alan Gibson for giving us this opportunity.
BFM gives the audience a chance to see snippets
of the various musical shows being staged at The Fringe.

We also took a glimpse and saw some promising things like:
Hedwig and the Angry Inch or School Ties.
We certainly are going to see these shows for a closer look.

This week we'll be perfoming there Sunday the 21st,
Tuesday the 23rd, and Friday the 26th.
The show starts at 13:30 at The Lot, 4 Grassmarket.

Plunging into Judy's life makes you feel dizzy.
Diving into The Fringe gives a feeling of drowning.
We're lucky to have our swimming diplomas.

To Gary Horrocks from The International Judy Garland Fanclub:

Dear Gary,

Thank you for notifing all your members about the show.
It's facinating to see how Judy Garland lives on in the hearts of so many.

Warm regards,
Isabelle & Frédérik.

A Yves Lecordier, l'auteur de La Voix de mes rêves.

Chers Yves,

on t'emrasse fort,

Frédérik.

Isabelle wanted to park here:

Not us!

But I didn't.

Edinburgh is great.
Except for the parking meters.
We keep getting tickets.
Wonder why The Beatles wrote Lovely Rita.

PS: Dad, just say the car was stolen.

Toto, oh Toto, I don't think we're in Minnesota anymore.
And now, a word from our sponsor…

Hello to all, from Michael!
One never knows what tomorrow brings,
but been a wonderful learning experience.

We've been very lucky to have great people behind us.
Love working with Isabelle and Frédérik,
though his hairdo really needs improving. (Ha Ha Ha!)

We'll get out to see some stuff soon.
Well, off to the half-price kilt sale.

Cheers,
Michael Stromme.

In Edinburgh two streets cross:
George Street and Frederick Street.
How could that ever be a coincidence?

Thursday August 11th 2005

Michael has now spent more than a week with us.
Believe me, he has become,
one hundred percent, totally stress proof.
He's simply the best!!!

Sir Frédérik.

First reviews came out.
The Stage, Fest and,
ThreeWeeks Daily rated our show four stars out of five!
That's one for each of us and an extra star for Pauline.

Things have been crazy ...
Couldn't find a wireless internet connexion.
Nor the time to update the site.

Saturday night July 30th we had our last rehearsal in Paris.
At the Centre de Danse du Marrais.

During diner a last minute idea came up.
Michel Stromme would join us for the festival.
He organised everything in 24 hours
and he was almost on time Monday morning.

We had never seen a car so packed!!!
Records, costumes, piano, flyers, posters ... and Michael.
The boat didn't sink. We arrived safe and sound at Rosyth.

Michael almost on time Isabelle in Zeebrugge Boarding

Since we arrived we've been running.
Organising the flat, the technical rehearsals, the previews, the press night.

We'll keep you posted.
